Scorpion Child Announce US Headline Tour with special guests Crobot

After a hugely successful year of touring over across the pond in Europe, it looks like America (especially the Southeast) will finally be getting a visit from the Child. Austin, TX face rockers Scorpion Child are bringing their soulful psychedelic exploratory hard rock back to the home front and I couldn’t be more ecstatic about this. Scorpion Child released their debut album last year which was adored by fans and critics but with that being said, it didn’t mean that all was peaches and cream. Since the release of the band’s debut, the band lost guitarist Chris Hodge and drummer Shawn Alvear. The band recruited former Job For A Cowboy drummer (I know right? Mind = blown) Jon “The Charn” Rice and embarked on yet another lengthy European tour. To top it all off, the band parted ways with founding member bassist/co-songwriter Shawn Avants leaving the band without a bassist to finish up the tour. The band recruited a fill in bassist to finish up the shows and returned home to plot their next move.

Bands have their internal swells and members come and go but that the end of the day it’s the music that truly matters. I’m glad to see that through the road blocks and bumps in the road Scorpion Child is continuing on putting on their high caliber live shows and delivering some of the best music to come out in years. The band will also be joined by PA beardos (and Brainfart faves) Crobot who seems to be all over the fucking place these days and rightfully so. Trust me, this is not a tour you want to miss so if you see a date anywhere near you, Deadhead it to the shows and get your groove on.
