It must have been a slow these days at the BP Station because White Wizzard bassist/songwriter/all around freak of nature Jon Leon has been quite busy spouting out his bullshit rantings on Facebook. As someone that doesn’t make many friends on the internet, part of me kind of likes that he speaks his mind. Much like me, he says shit that just pokes the bear and stirs the fire but his latest rant is just downright hysterical.
As you can see, in his post, Jon Leon went on to say that Rival Sons “… are good but the songwriting is safe and lacks depth and otherworldly mystical elements and power.” I guess he’s not impressed by the fact that they don’t sing about dragons, wings of steel, and being over the top. Hell, I’m sure Rival Sons don’t even know that this guy exists but if so, they’re probably reading this from their tour bus before going on stage to a packed house going, “Who the fuck is this tool?”
Also remember that this coming from a guy who had posted just a few days earlier that their song and amazing video for the atrociously horrible “Chasing Dragons” was better than any of the artists who won Grammy’s at the 2019 Grammy Awards. That’s some big words coming from a guy who put this out:
Jon Leon has been notorious over the years for just spouting out shit like this for days on end. The guy is so fucking impossible to work with that he reunited with vocalist Wyatt Anderson who was stupid enough to fall for this bullshit three times (sorry but you are an idiot), recorded an album, and then everyone ran like there was a house fire or something.
It’s also very obvious that Leon does this kind of shit to get press so if he wants press I’m gonna give it to him. Why? Well, because not only do I need content but this kind of shit just entertains the living fuck out of me. Jon will always be that guy that made one great record with a great lineup and then just destroyed and lost it all for, well, being himself.
