Almost 40 years after their inception, the revitalized 1989-1992 Venom line-up of guitarist Jeff “Mantas” Dunn and vocalist/bassist Tony “Demolition Man” Dolan and the new addition of drummer Jeramie ‘Warmachine’ Kling have returned with one hell of a follow-up to their acclaimed debut, ‘Avé‘, and show no signs of slowing down. Venom Inc. has released “Don’t Feed Me Your Lies,” the first single/video from the forthcoming album There’s Only Black, due out September 23rd on Nuclear Blast Records.
While I generally loathe lyric videos, Venom Inc. delivered one that actually was a visually fantastic representation of this song that reflects the anger, frustration, and need for resolve with everything that is fucked up in our world today. “Don’t Feed Me Your Lies” is the past, present, and future of the legacy of Venom. Even with the “Inc.” attached to the end, this is Venom without a doubt. It’s a step forward for Venom Inc but still has a hand in the past that made their sound such an integral part of what would become an entire genre of metal unto itself.
