January 6, 2021 is a day that has left a considerable ass Mr. Hankey style shit kiss on the face of America. It was the temper tantrum seen around the world, and sore losers and brainwashed sheep decided to peacefully protest what they were calling a “rigged election.” Well, it was only peaceful if you consider peaceful protesting including storming the US Capitol, shitting on someone’s desk like you’re a dog that ate a pound of chocolate, and attacking Police with pepper spray, Made in China Trump Flags, and any other kind of redneck weapon of destruction.
These days, I call it an Insurrection. The MAGAs get bent when you call them insurrectionists. “They said that it wasn’t an insurrection so you’re full of shit, Libtard.” Well, according to the Oxford Dictionary, the word is defined as “a violent uprising against an authority or government.” Well, if you saw what I saw, then I’d say that’s what it is. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, it probably is a duck.
That was the day that genuinely divided our country, our families, and our friends. No longer was it just a left party and a right party. It was now a left party and an insane group of individuals. Another thing this shit did was divide certain musicians and their fanbase. One of the worst ones I can think of is Iced Earth guitarist/songwriter Jon Schaffer who was one of the Neanderthal dipshits who stormed the capital like a big boy.
Schaffer was caught on camera, and you couldn’t see it any clearer. The look of fury, the look of insanity, the look of a child who got carrot sticks in his lunch box instead of Ding Dongs. There he is in vivid Kodachrome color. Once a songwriter/guitarist that I admired, and now just another brainwashed worm brain insurrectionist.
Schaffer recently interviewed with the “It Is Later Than You Think” podcast of Cornerstone Church, a non-denominational Church in Trafalgar, Indiana. I couldn’t make this shit up if I had a PhD in making this shit up. You guessed it! Throughout these terrible times for him (yes, he still considers himself a victim), Schaffer found Jesus. Talked to God. Touched by an Angel. Like any other criminal who is now having to face the consequences, he became a religious person.
Schaffer said, “Well, I would say that as brutal as it’s been in the big picture, it’s been the biggest gift of my life to go through this, not only for the cause, but for the fact that it is what led me to Christ.” He also managed to play the victim card here by saying, “”It was just Friday this past week where I got a call that the civil case is dismissed, and really, when you consider the level of stress and pressure and fight or flight and the PTSD and all the things, the financial wrecking, all of the, the things, I think it’s gonna take a little bit of time to come completely out of this.”
I’m so sorry that terrible fucking things have happened to such a shitty human being but since you love your country so much, you should know that there are consequences to breaking the law and you did just that. Now you get to live with the consequences. What are you gonna do now, Schaffer? I bet he’ll be launching a Gofundme or something to help him build that ladder to Jesus or something in exchange for crappy, discarded Iced Earth memorabilia. Ya know, it couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.
There is a point to me even writing this piece. As a writer, I understand and love that writing is how I exorcise those demons that cause me so much anger, frustration, and IBS. So this is what I’m doing. I’m sharing my feelings. I’m being a snowflake. Whatever you want to call it but Schaffer, you’re a massive part of this country’s downfall. You’re a pardoned criminal, but remember, you’re still a criminal until you leave this plane.
I am also not going even to pretend that I am OK with this kind of shit. Like I said earlier, this isn’t just about Democrats and Republicans; this is Democrats and Gravy Seals.
